The final straw came for me a couple of days ago. In my Facebook news feed was a picture of little girl--no more than five or six-years-old--standing beside her "kill"....a dead racoon. The picture, obviously taken by a proud relative, sickened me...the straw that broke this camel's back. Recently I picked up a book that I haven't looked at in years...since my high school days, in fact. Why it grabbed my attention now I can't explain, but it did, so I decided to re-read Anne Morrow Lindbergh's "Gift from the Sea."
